Kereru, white, speckled, facing left
This big, bold but beautiful Kereru, NZ wood pigeon, is a greedy and ever so uncoordinated bird when it is “drunk” on the sweet Kowhai flowers in spring. It is a daily visitor to our garden. Often you can hear them before you see them!
My stylised interpretation is made with white clay with the addition of local river sand. Pressed with a variety of native leaves found in our garden, makes each one special. Finished here in my glossy white glaze & facing Left
They have a hook on the back for wall hanging
