Kereru, Southern Ice Blue, facing right
This big, bold but beautiful Kereru, NZ wood pigeon, is a greedy and ever so uncoordinated bird when it is “drunk” on the sweet Kowhai flowers in spring. It is a daily visitor to our garden. Often you can hear them before you see them!
My stylised interpretation is made with white clay pressed with a variety of native leaves found in our garden, making each one special. Finished here in my glossy Southern Ice Blue glaze & facing Right.
They have a hook on the back for wall hanging
