Kauri Tea-light
The Kauri tree is very special, strong, straight & slow growing New Zealand native. Mature trees can reach heights of over 50m & live for more than 1000 years.
Most naturally occurring trees are found in the upper half of the North Island. However we feel very privileged to have a Kauri tree growing in our front garden here in the South Island, hence the name given to the studio!
Taking only leaves that have fallen from the tree, these leaves have been used to give a lasting print to the clay surface on the bottom of the tea-light, inside and out.
Using white clay with the addition of locally sourced Marlborough river sand, that is visible through the surface of the piece, this one of a kind ceramic Tea-light holder will make a special gift.
Glazed in a beautiful gloss pale green.
A beeswax candle is included with your purchase.
